William Fitzsimmons seemed destined to be a musician from his early days. He was born to two blind parents who were musically inclined and had an array of instruments in the house. One of which, was a pipe organ that his father built into the house with his own hands. He was taught piano and trombone in elementary school and taught himself the guitar in Jr. High.
While it is obvious he became a musician (check out his cool, long musician beard), it was not always a clear path for William. He pursued his education in the field of mental health and became a practicing therapist. While in graduate school, he purchased some recording equipment and tinkered around a bit.
He self-produced and released his debut album “Until When We are Ghost” in 2005. Shortly after the release, his songs started showing up in television shows such as “Grey’s Anatomy” “One Tree Hill”, and “Army Wives”. In 2006 he engineered and produced his second album “Goodnight”. His first official studio album “The Sparrow and the Crow” was released in 2008.
His lyrics are often dark and autobiographical and sung/whispered with a quiet yet emotional power. On occasion, he has a tendency to mix electronica with folk style music which does not sound as weird as you might expect.
